A summer leadership training program for incoming seventh and eighth graders
is celebrating its 25th anniversary on June 10 with a gathering of the
high school and adult volunteers who’ve made the training possible
for more than 2,000 students.
The volunteers, students at Catholic high schools in the diocese and elementary
school faculty members, teach the junior high student leaders how to run
council meetings, organize activities and generate participation among
their schoolmates.
The reunion will take place at St. Isidore Parish Ministry Center in Danville
from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Kathy Gannon Briggs, principal of St. Bernard School
in Oakland and former principal at St. Isidore School, is coordinating
the event. She can be reached at (510) 632-6323.
